Carriers are asking harder questions at every renewal. “No” answers mean higher premiums, exclusions, or denial.

D1 Cyber gets you to honest “yes” answers before your renewal, with documentation your broker and carrier will accept.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my cyber insurance premium go up?

Carriers are raising rates and tightening requirements because claims are rising across the industry. They want evidence that you have basic controls like MFA, verified backups, and email security in place before renewal.

What is an attestation and why does my carrier want one?

An attestation is a documented statement, backed by evidence, that certain security controls are in place. Many carriers now ask for this instead of just a “yes” on the application form.

Do I need MFA to get cyber insurance?

Many carriers now require or strongly prefer MFA on email, VPN, and admin accounts. It is one of the most common gaps we help close during readiness work.

Can you fill out my insurance security questionnaire for me?

We provide completed-questionnaire support and evidence summaries, but you remain the signer. We prepare the answers and documentation so you can submit accurately.

How long does insurance readiness take?

Most engagements are completed in two to four weeks depending on the size of the questionnaire and how quickly remediation items can be implemented.

Do you work with our insurance broker directly?

Yes. We can provide the attestation package directly to your broker and answer their follow-up questions.

What if I already have some controls in place?

The gap analysis will show exactly which questions you can already answer “yes” to and which still need work. You only pay for the full package after the intake call confirms scope.

Is this only for cyber insurance?

The same documentation helps with customer security questionnaires and many regulatory or audit requests. It is designed to be reusable.
